PROJECT INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Size and reference requirements:


- Diploma's  Project - 10,000 words minimum utilizing at least 10 reference works.


- Bachelor's project - 15,000 words minimum utilizing at least 15 reference works.
     

 

1.     A subject of your choice that relates in some way to your major. Your subject should not be too broad. For example, a Bible major should not write on “All About the Bible” but he may write on “Steps of Christian Growth as Shown in the Life of The Apostle Peter” or “A Study of the word Walk from the Book of Ephesians” or “What Motivated the Apostle Paul.” A Christian Education major might write on a subject such as “Teaching Elementary Math” or “Paul’s Teaching Methods.”

2.     A minimum of 75 pages. All work must be typed, double-spaced, on one side only of letter size paper (8 1/2” by 11”). Your margins should be about one inch all the way around. The font size should be 12 point type.

 

3.     Footnotes are not required, but you must have a bibliography listing at least fifteen sources of material used.

 

 

4.     Plan for about 7-12 chapters (of 7-12 pages each) in order to reach your minimum number of pages.


Formatting, Binding, and Grading:


- Both of the following are required:
- Electronic copy: A copy of the project must be submitted in electronic format.  Electronic formats include Word; WordPerfect or any other word-processor format.  This copy will be required to be sent first for purposes of assessment to determine any required corrections. Student will also be required to defend their project and will be notified when it has achieved final acceptance and at that time a final electronic copy that includes all required corrections will be sent to the college for inclusion in the student's e-file.


- Hard copy: This copy will be sent after student has been notified that their project has been accepted.

Project or thesis needs to be properly formatted and bound (glued binding, comb binding, etc.)  -  Minimum formatting requirement includes: Title Page, Table of Contents, Introduction, Body (including proofs, comparisons, etc.), Conclusion/Summary (you may include Epilogue if you so desire but it is not required), and a Bibliography & References

NOTE: Your completed project must be submitted as a bound copy (spiral or plastic comb binding accepted). Be sure to keep your own copy, as Spread the Word copy cannot be returned.

References can be existing works on your subject or works that address some point you will address in your
project. While writing your project you can use normal informational works such as Bibles, Dictionaries, Concordances, Lexicons, etc., but do NOT include those types of reference works in this preliminary list.
